Stacking Star Boxes
Star boxes are great decorating accessories as well as storage solutions. Four boxes in this set of five were stacked to create a tree shape. A star was glued to the smallest box to top off the tree. The fifth box is displayed on its side to show the star shape.
Materials
- DCC Crafts Paper Mache Star Boxes,
set of five, #28-0069 (8”, 10”, 11-1/4”, 13-1/4”, and 15”) - DCC Crafts Paper Mache Puffy Star, #28-0049 (3”-wide)
- Rust-Oleum American Accents Crackle Creations in Venetian White;
Clear Top Coat in Matte - Miscellaneous: foam brush, glue gun and glue sticks, metallic gold acrylic paint, large piece of cardboard or drop cloth, scissors, protective mask
Instructions
- Boxes. Give your boxes an antique finish with Crackle Creations. Separate the lids from the boxes and follow the manufacturers’ directions to complete the two-step process. Place the boxes and lids on a large piece of cardboard or drop cloth and spray the crackle, working outside or in a well-ventilated area and wearing a mask. Let dry.
- Star. Cut the cord off of the star. Use the foam brush to apply metallic gold acrylic paint to both sides of the star.
Let dry. - For extra protection, apply Clear Top Coat to the boxes.
- Hot glue the star to the center of the small box lid.
